The RIGHT purpose & the RIGHT people


  • Keeping our partners informed
  • Means of getting information to a   specific group
  • Timely posts
  • Post as much or as little as you want
  • Can include a variety of multimedia
  • Extremely customizable
  • Linking to external sites

The WRONG purpose & the WRONG people

  • Trouble reaching the older population
  • Not as immediate as twitter or facebook.
  • Not everybody reads blogs
  • Have to show people that it’s worthwhile
Tips for Newbies
  • Use your blog space to highlight partners
  • Don’t be afraid of it. Take the time to learn it
  • User friendly
  • Start with blogger
  • Keep track of your statistics (good for feedback)
  • Reuse content from newsletters, conferences, etc.
  • Link other social medias to the blog (twitter, facebook, pinterest, etc.)
  • Google- “keywords” like non-profit blogs for helpful tips
  • Wordpress (for more advanced)
